Adult Choir
The Adult Choir is a mixed voice ensemble whose primary purpose is to lead the entire congregation in singing God's praise through the music of the liturgy, hymns, songs, and psalms. In addition, the choir prepares anthems in a variety of styles to offer at Sunday 10:30 a.m. services and other major festivals/observances.
Weekly Rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals during the choir season (September through May) are held on Wednesdays, usually from 7:00-8:30 p.m., except during Advent and Lent when they begin at 8:00 p.m. because of midweek worship services. Although these rehearsals are primarily devoted to learning and refining music, several social events are scheduled each year, including a Christmas party and carol sing.
In addition to its primary duties on Sundays and other major festivals/observances, the Adult Choir is occasionally involved in choral concerts, choral festivals, and Bach cantata performances. During the summer months, small ensembles from the adult choir are formed to lead congregational singing and perform anthems.
