Jesus told today's parable so His disciples would not give up and lose heart or courage.  He also speaks to us, who are wearied by changes and chances of life, no matter if we're old or young.  He tells us of the God who never gives up on His promises, His love, His forgiveness.  The only thing God gave up was His Son, given to death on the cross so that we would never lose heart.
